Mike Kline is in his 24th year as the head coach of Green Bay men's and women's cross country teams. Kline landed the Green Bay coaching position while still a cross country student-athlete in 1987. The Luxemburg, Wis., native also served as the girls distance and triple jump coach at Green Bay Southwest High School from 1988-93.
In 1999, Kline was named academic coordinator for the Green Bay athletics program. In this role, Kline is also responsible for conducting grade checks and supervising study tables. Under his direction, student-athlete grades have consistently been on the rise. In the spring of 2003, Green Bay student-athletes posted an athletics department-best 3.25 grade point average. Kline's 2006 men's and women's teams were both honored by their respective coaches associations for their efforts in the classroom, as both teams posted cumulative GPAs over 3.30.
In 2011, Kline was awarded the Luxemburg-Casco High School Alumni Award established to honor alumni who have distinguished themselves during and after their high school careers.
Kline graduated from UW-Green Bay in 1987 with degrees in psychology and philosophy. In his spare time, Kline enjoys spending time with his children, Zac and Lexie, running and gardening.
