GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Heading into the final weekend of regular season action, the Green Bay men’s soccer team will look to vie for a spot in the Horizon League Tournament as it takes on UIC on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Green Bay currently resides in sixth place in the standings, and depending on Saturday’s outcome could rise as high as fourth place or be eliminated from the tournament. With a win, the Phoenix guarantee at least the No. 5 seed in the tournament with the potential to be the No. 4 seed with a Cleveland State loss at Milwaukee. If the Phoenix loses or draws they will be the No. 6 seed unless Valparaiso wins over Detroit, in which case the Phoenix will be eliminated from the tournament.

The Phoenix is 7-6-3 overall and 2-3-1 in the conference. Green Bay enters the weekend having dropped two consecutive matches against Wright State and Oakland. In the all-time series against the Flames, Green Bay owns a 29-17-2 advantage.

Senior Sam Krenzien (Wauwatosa, Wis.) currently leads the team and conference with 26 points and is tied for the conference lead with 11 goals this season. Krenzien has netted a goal in each of the last three matches for the Phoenix, tying his longest consecutive goal streak set earlier this season (Sept. 20-Oct. 1). His 11 goals are tied for the eighth-best total in the nation, while his 26 points stands ninth in the country.

Lawrence Talery (Coon Rapids, Minn.) is tops on the team with six assists, good for second in the conference. In net, Kyle Ihn (Wales, Wis.) and Dary DeWalt (Milwaukee, Wis.) have shared time, posting a combined 1.77 goals-against average and a .694 save percentage.
