CHICAGO, Ill. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Sophomore Katie Pokrandt (Eau Claire, Wis.) carded a 77 and three Phoenix golfers fired rounds of 80 as the Green Bay women’s golf team defeated UIC 323-317 on Saturday in a dual meet at Cog Hill Country Club in Chicago.
The consistency of Pokrandt’s teammates helped the Phoenix earn the victory. Sophomores Sammi Grunder (Pardeeville, Wis.) and Steph Laude (Slinger, Wis.) and freshman Avery Steen (Luck, Wis.) each posted rounds of 80 on Saturday while senior Grace Abitz (Appleton, Wis.) carded an 81.
Green Bay will stay in Chicago and compete in the Chicago State Invitational beginning on Sunday at Harborside International Golf Course.
