GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Green Bay volleyball fans can get their first look at new head coach Michaela Franklin and her 2013 roster on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the team’s preseason scrimmage. The event, which is open to the public and free of charge, begins at 3:30 p.m. at the Kress Center on the UW-Green Bay campus, with doors opening at 2:30 p.m.
In addition, the Phoenix will hold a free clinic for kids in grades eight and below immediately following the scrimmage.
The intrasquad scrimmage will feature pre-match introductions, players in game uniforms and a series of wash drills in front of the fans on Green Bay’s home court.
Franklin and the Phoenix officially begin practice for the 2013 campaign on Friday, Aug. 9, with the first regular season match falling on Aug. 30 against Northern Illinois at the NIU Invitational. Franklin, who was hired at Green Bay on Jan. 8, will lead a squad that includes 10 returners and three newcomers.
