Casey Pivonka is in his first year at Green Bay after being hired as the Kress Center's Recreation Programming Coordinator in September 2012. He oversees a staff of student-employees who officiate intramural contests, run scoreboards and serve a number of other duties.
Pivonka wasted no time taking Green Bay's intramural programs to the next level upon his appointment. He introduced a new intramural registration system, IMLeagues, which records single game, season and career stats for both players and teams. He also introduced futsal, broomball, bag toss, Co-rec basketball, wallyball and fantasy football to the list of activities offered to students.
These improvements led to record-high turnouts of both individual students and teams participating in intramurals at Green Bay during the 2012-13 academic year.
Pivonka served as an Intramural Graduate Assistant at UW-La Crosse where he received his master's in Recreation Management in May 2012. He earned his bachelor's degree in Family Life Education and a minor in Coaching from UW-Stevens Point in 2010.
A native of Valders, Wis., he serves as an official for basketball and football games as well as an umpire for baseball and softball. Pivonka has a passion for bowhunting and the outdoors, and enjoys spending time with his family and watching the Packers and Brewers.
