GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Academic success is nothing new for the Green Bay women's basketball program. In 2011-12, the Phoenix women finished the season ranked No. 1 in the WBCA's Academic Top-25 for the second time in school history, earning an NCAA-best 3.616 team GPA. The team helped contribute to the athletic department's best fall grade-point average in school history last semester, posting a team GPA of 3.26 as UW-Green Bay student-athletes combined for a 3.24. It marked the impressive 26th straight semester that Green Bay Athletics has achieved a 3.0 or higher, and the 32nd in a row for women's basketball.
While much of the credit for the team's academic success goes to the student-athletes, the Phoenix players realize the importance of people such as tutor/mentor Darrell Patterson, academic coordinator Mike Kline, UW-Green Bay's professors and all those around campus who support Green Bay Athletics.
