GREEN BAY, Wis.
(GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Appleton
native Megan Gossens has been named
the Assistant Athletics Director for Development, Green Bay Director of
Athletics Ken Bothof announced Tuesday. Bothof also announced the hiring of Lauren Lepkowski as the department's Director of Athletics Special
"We are extremely excited to welcome Megan and Lauren
to our department," said Bothof. "I know our fans, ticket holders and donors
will enjoy getting to know these two new members of our team.
"Megan brings a wealth of college athletics experience
and a passion for helping student-athletes. She is excited to be back working
in Northeast Wisconsin and her knowledge of our community and college athletics
development will be valuable assets to Green Bay Athletics and the Phoenix Fund."
Gossens returns to college athletics after working for
the past nine months in community relations for the American Cancer Society in
Green Bay. While with the American Cancer Society, Gossens managed fundraising
events including the Sole Burner 5K Walk/Run, Determination: Cellcom Green Bay
Marathon, America's Birthday Run 5K and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
The Appleton native graduated from the University of
Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in marketing and earned a
master's degree in sport science/sport administration from the University of Akron
in December 2010.
"I am thrilled about the opportunity to work for Green
Bay Athletics and the Phoenix Fund," said Gossens. "I'm thankful to Ken Bothof
and the search committee for this opportunity, and I could not be more excited
for the chance to work with an athletics department in a community that means
so much to me. I look forward to getting to know fans and donors and teaming up
to help our Phoenix student-athletes and programs to succeed both academically
Gossens has eight years of prior experience in college
athletics, including a three-year stint at Akron serving as the Director of
the Z-Fund from 2008- 2011. She oversaw all aspects of Z-Fund member events
while maintaining a donor portfolio of 150 prospects. Gossens also served as
the liaison between the Varsity A Association and the athletics department
while sitting on the association's executive board.
From 2005- 2008, Gossens worked as a program assistant
in the University of Wisconsin Football Office, planning and organizing
fundraising and social events for members of the football booster club, handling
all autograph and community requests and organizing bowl game travel for donors.
Gossens started at Wisconsin as an intern in the athletics ticket office in
Lepkowski comes to Green Bay after spending the past five
years working at Michigan State University. She has worked since June 2011 as
an alumni relations coordinator for the Michigan State College of Communication
Arts and Sciences. In that role, Lepkowski served as the lead coordinator for
20 events annually and directed a volunteer board composed of alumni and
Lepkowski graduated with a bachelor's degree in
communication from Michigan State in May 2011. During her time as an
undergraduate student, Lepkowski worked as a courtside hospitality supervisor
for basketball and as an office assistant for the Spartan Fund in the athletic

"I look forward to beginning my first season in Green Bay with a running
start this September and will be working to showcase the university's
athletics events and the Phoenix Fund."
