Andrew Gavin is in his fifth year at Green Bay. He was hired as the Director of Athletics Communications in August 2010 and promoted to Assistant AD for Communications and Video Services in October 2012.
In his current role, Gavin serves as the sport administrator for volleyball and men's and women's golf and has administrative oversight of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Gavin manages the Office of Athletics Communications staff and oversees the department's media relations and video services efforts for each of Green Bay's 16 varsity sport programs as well as the content and maintenance of GreenBayPhoenix.com - the primary source of information on all Phoenix Athletics.
He serves as the primary media relations contact for men's basketball and men's and women's golf teams, handling media requests for the programs' coaches and student-athletes.
While traveling with the men's basketball team, Gavin serves as the color radio analyst for the program's road games. He has also handled color analyst duties for select games televised on Time Warner Cable Sports32.
In 2012-13, Gavin assumed the role of chair of the Horizon League Sports Information Director's Committee and served in this capacity until July of 2014.
Prior to coming to Green Bay, Gavin worked for two years (2008-10) as an Assistant Director of Athletics Communications for the University of Central Florida, where he was the primary media contact for women's basketball and a secondary contact for the school's football program.
He also worked previously as the Assistant Sports Information Director at the University of South Carolina Aiken (2006-08). While in Aiken, Gavin was the media relations contact for a nationally-ranked men's basketball program.
Gavin is a 2006 graduate of Centre College in Danville, Ky., where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Government. Gavin was a two-year member of the men's basketball team and president of Sigma Alpha Epsilon in his time at Centre.
