Seniors Pace Phoenix at Dallio Memorial
LEMONT, Ill. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Green Bay golf’s senior leadership paced the Phoenix at the John Dallio Memorial hosted by DePaul this weekend.
Green Bay’s Gene Kiela (Plymouth, Wis.), claimed the team’s best finish, placing tied for 11th. Kiela shot 76, 73 in the first two rounds on Saturday.
Joe Du Chateau (Fond du Lac, Wis.), bounced back from an opening-round 82 to card a 74 and a 75 in the final two rounds, finishing in 14th place.
Fellow senior Ryan Reinke (Brillion, Wis.), also shot an opening-round 82, but like Du Chateau showed great resiliency. Reinke shot a 76 and an 80 in the final two rounds, finishing in a tie for 35th place. Green Bay finished in fifth as a team in the 12-squad field.
Green Bay will have a short drive for its final competition of the fall. The Phoenix will take part in the Whistling Straits Intercollegiate in Kohler, Wis., hosted by Loyola., beginning Monday, Oct. 12.
