Green Bay Ties for Fourth at League Championships

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Junior Steph Laude (Slinger, Wis.) made 15 pars on Sunday en route to a 2-over par 74, and the Green Bay women’s golf team tied for fourth place at the 2015 Horizon League Championships at Mission Inn Resort.

Youngstown State took the tournament title with a team total of 926, with Oakland (937) and Cleveland State (982) rounding out the top-three. Green Bay and UIC were just one shot behind the Vikings with 54-hole totals of 983. Youngstown State’s Emily Dixon won individual medalist honors with a score of 224.

After beginning her round with eight-straight pars, Laude birdied the par-4 ninth hole to make the turn at 1-under 34. Laude and sophomore Avery Steen (Luck, Wis.) each tied for tenth with a three-day score of 238.

Junior Sammi Grunder (Pardeeville, Wis.) tied for 23rd (252), junior Lexi Wilson tied for 29th place (258) and freshman Emily Grunder (Pardeeville, Wis.) finished in 33rd place (272).
