Green Bay in Third Place Heading into the Final Round

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – With three players improving their scores from the opening round, the Green Bay women’s golf team moved into third place after the second round of the 2015 Horizon League Championships at Mission Inn Resort.
Green Bay shot 322 on Saturday to sit 649 through 36 holes. Youngstown State (614) is four shots clear of Oakland (618) heading into Sunday’s final round. Valparaiso (653) and UIC (657) round out the top-five in the seven-team field. Oakland’s Morgan Smith leads by seven shots while Green Bay sophomore Avery Steen (Luck, Wis.) sits just two shots behind second place at 9-over par.
Juniors Steph Laude (Slinger, Wis.) and Lexi Wilson (Marinette, Wis.) and freshman Emily Grunder (Pardeeville, Wis.) improved their scores from round one, with Laude carding an 81 and Wilson and Grunder shooting 82s. Wilson and Grunder each posted season-low scores.
Laude is tied for 17th (164) while Wilson is alone in 22nd place (167) and junior Sammi Grunder (Pardeeville, Wis.) is tied for 23rd place (168).
