YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio. ( –  Charles Cooper came through big off the bench for the second-straight game and his team dished out a season-high 25 assists on Saturday afternoon, as Green Bay knocked off Youngstown State 90-77 at the Beeghly Center.

Green Bay made it two consecutive road wins in Horizon League play, something last year's team did not accomplish. The Phoenix has now started 2-0 in league play in each of the last four seasons.

Cooper registered a season-high 22 points in his second straight game off the bench. The Gary, Ind., native is averaging 20.5 PPG over his last two and recorded his second career double-double against the Penguins (7-8, 1-1 HL) after tallying 10 rebounds.

The Phoenix also totaled a season-high free throw percentage (77.3 percent) after making 17 of its 22 attempts. Cooper was key in that stat, going 6-for-7 at the line.

Turner Botz scored a season-high 16 points on four made 3s. Botz has now totaled eight 3s in his last two games, coming through with big shots at key moments of the game.

Trevor Anderson (14 points) and Kenneth Lowe (10 points) also finished in double figures, with Anderson notching seven assists. The two combined to go 10-for-16 from the field.

Head coach Linc Darner used his whole bench, playing 11 players. Ten of those players scored in the game and the Phoenix put up 44 bench points.

Green Bay led by as many as 22 points in the game and had to fend off a late rally by the Penguins, who were coming off a double overtime win against Milwaukee on Thursday.

The Phoenix begins a stretch of three-straight Horizon League games at home, starting with in-state rival Milwaukee next Friday (Jan. 6) night at 7 p.m. The game will serve as a Bud Light Night ($2 24 oz. beers) and will be televised on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.
