GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Following standout careers with the Green Bay women’s basketball program, seniors Adrian Ritchie (De Pere, Wis.) and Stephanie Sension (Hopkins, Minn.) will continue playing as part of the 10-player NetScouts Basketball Women’s All-Star team in May. The squad will represent the United States in a tournament held in China against the national teams of Australia, Brazil and China.
From May 1 through May 15, the All-Star team will play three games in a round-robin format in three different Chinese cities. Green Bay is the only program to have two players represented on the roster and with Michigan’s Kate Thompson, the squad features three players that have played under Phoenix head coach Kevin Borseth.
“I think this is a great opportunity for Adrian and Stephanie—not every player gets to compete outside of a college setting so this will be a great experience for them,” Borseth said. “Representing your country in any form is something every athlete dreams of, so this is something that’s really special for them and the rest of the players on this team.”
The team, coached by NetScouts Basketball’s Chris Denker, features five First Team All-Conference members and two conference Most Valuable Players.
Results from the tournament will be posted on GreenBayPhoenix.com. For more information, visit the NetScouts Basketball website.
