GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The late Butch Reimer will be posthumously inducted into the Phoenix Hall of Fame, Green Bay Athletics announced on Tuesday. Reimer will be honored during the 18th Phoenix Hall of Fame Induction Banquet as the lone member of the Class of 2011 and will be the 71st member inductee overall.

The induction banquet will be held on Friday, April 29, at The Marq in De Pere, Wis., beginning at 6 p.m. The night will include a social hour from 6-7 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m. and the induction program at 8 p.m. Tickets for the induction ceremony, which cost $25 per person, can be reserved until April 25 by calling the Green Bay Athletics Ticket Office at (920) 465-5125.

A longtime coach and supporter of Green Bay Athletics, Reimer passed away on Oct. 19, 2010 after a battle with acute myogenic leukemia. The coach most recently worked as the head Nordic ski coach from 2006 until the time of his passing. He also coached the Nordic ski program from 1988-98 and served as the head softball coach from 1996-2002.

During his time at Green Bay, Reimer led the ski program to great heights. In his years leading the program, 33 men and women qualified for the NCAA Championships and his teams won two regional championships and two conference titles.

While at the helm of the softball program, Reimer led the Phoenix to three-straight conference title games and a then-program best 27-15 record in 2000.
