- On Friday night in Valparaiso, Ind., Green Bay and UIC will square off for
the third time in 2012-13, meeting in the Horizon League Championship
quarterfinals at the Athletics and Recreation Center at Valparaiso. The Phoenix
and the Flames will meet in the night's second quarterfinal, set to tip off at
7:30 p.m. CT.
The Phoenix advanced to the quarterfinals with a 62-46
win over Milwaukee on Tuesday night at the Resch Center. Junior Alec Brown (Winona, Minn.) led Green
Bay with 18 points while freshman Jordan
Fouse (Racine, Wis.) posted a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Tickets can be purchased for Friday and Saturday by
calling 219-464-5233 or by visiting the Valparaiso University Ticket Office,
located in the main lobby of the ARC (extended hours of 10 a.m.-7 p.m. this
week). Tickets for Friday's pair of second-round games are $10
general admission seating for the session, while groups of 10 or more are $7
each and Horizon League students are free with their student ID.
Green Bay and UIC split two closely contested regular
season meetings, with the Phoenix
winning 53-47 on Jan. 12 at the Resch Center and the Flames
posting a 60-57 victory in Chicago on Jan. 31. Brown scored 21 points in
the home win while Sykes registered 18 points in the road game.
The game will be broadcast live on the Horizon League Network and on
with Jim Barbar (play-by-play), David Kaplan (color analyst) and Will Haskett
(sideline) on the call.
