GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay men's and women's cross country teams kicked off the 2012 season at the UIC Opener Sept. 1 but are looking forward to less travel and more home-cooked meals this season as four of Green Bay's six remaining meets take place in the state of Wisconsin, giving fans and spectators plenty of opportunities to cheer on the Phoenix.
Saturday, Sept. 8 Green Bay will be competing in the Midwest Collegiate Open in Kenosha, Wis. at 10 a.m. before competing in the Falcon Invite Saturday, Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. on the Concordia campus in Mequon, Wis. In-state rival UW-Milwaukee is the host of this year's Horizon League Championship being held Saturday, Oct. 27 at the Parkside National Course in Kenosha, Wis. at 11 a.m.
Competition in the state of Wisconsin concludes with the NCAA District Regional meet Friday, Nov. 9 at Zimmer Cross Country Course at Ridges Golf Club in Madison, Wis. The regional competition kicks off with the women's 6K race beginning at 11 a.m.
