Camp Offered for Aspiring Runners
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Runners aspiring to reach their full potential are encouraged to attend the XL Athletic Performance at Bellin Health and the Green Bay Phoenix running camp being held Friday, July 13 and Saturday, July 14 at the Kress Events Center and Arboretum Trails on the UW-Green Bay campus.
In addition to a Dri-fit t-shirt, each camp participant receives personalized tips on how to improve their running economy and reach their full potential and an overall understanding of their body and how it functions along with the knowledge to make smart training decisions.
The camp will feature former Green Bay cross country runner Nate Vandervest who is a Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Corrective Exercise Specialist. Vandervest will teach a course during the camp that teaches the implementation of runs, movement screening, gait assessment, core activation, flexibility training and nutrition.
Green Bay men's and women's cross country coach, Mike Kline, will give a lecture on the mental aspects of running and racing while Green Bay cross country strength and conditioning coach Brandon Schlotthauer will teach the importance of plyometric and strength training.
The individual camp costs $199 per runner or coach while a team of 4-7 may register for $175 and teams of eight or more may register for $150. The camp is open to and encouraged to any and all entrants.
