GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay women's soccer team will continue a four-game road swing on Friday, beginning play in the SIU Edwardsville Classic. The Phoenix (0-3) will look for its first win of 2012 on Friday night, playing against Northern Iowa (3-1) at 5 p.m. at Korte Stadium. Green Bay holds an impressive 7-2-0 against Northern Iowa, including a 4-0 victory in the last meeting on Sept. 10, 2010 and three-straight wins. In that 2010 contest, current senior Megan Braatz (Waukesha, Wis.) had two goals and two assists in the win, playing a part in each of the four goals en route to a Horizon League Player of the Week award.
The contest on Sunday will pit the Phoenix against UMKC, a team that is 1-1-1 early on in the 2012 season. The Kangaroos and the Phoenix will be meeting for the first time.
