GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay (0-1-0) women's soccer team will face a tough test this weekend on its first trip to Florida in over two decades. The Phoenix will take on Atlantic Sun powerhouse Florida Gulf Coast and Florida Atlantic at the sixth annual Embassy Suites Classic in Fort Myers, Fla.

Green Bay will face its biggest challenge of its young season Friday, when it takes on tournament host Florida Gulf Coast at 6 p.m. The Eagles (1-1-0) won the 2011 Atlantic Sun Tournament, have won back-to-back Atlantic Sun regular season titles and are predicted to win a third-straight title in 2012. After a day off Saturday, the Phoenix will return to action against Florida Atlantic (0-1-0) at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning.

In the first regular season game last Friday, the Phoenix held South Dakota State scoreless for 82 minutes before allowing two late goals to give the Jackrabbits a 2-0 win. Green Bay outshot South Dakota State 8-7 in the contest and came close to scoring on more than one occasion.

Green Bay has never played in a regular season tournament under head coach Trevor Warren. The last tournament the Phoenix appeared in was the 2006 University of Nevada Tournament in Reno, Nev.

FOLLOW IT LIVE: Live stats will be available on GreenBayPhoenix.com for both Phoenix games of the tournament. Information can also be found at the 2012 Embassy Suites Classic website.

A LONG, LONG, TIME AGO: Green Bay has one appearance against Florida Atlantic in program history, a 3-2 loss in 1990-before most of the current Phoenix roster was born. This will be the first meeting between Green Bay and Florida Gulf Coast.

TOUGH TRAVELS: Green Bay has played five games against Florida teams, all of them on the road. The last contest, a neutral-site tournament game against Lynn University in 1995, resulted in a 4-0 defeat. The Phoenix will be looking for its first win over a team from the Sunshine State this weekend.

HEAR FROM COACH WARREN: Warren took time Wednesday afternoon to discuss his team's play in the season opener and preview this weekend's Embassy Suites Classic. To hear from Warren, click here.

EXTRA TIME WITH TREVOR WARREN: Warren will begin sharing insights into the women's soccer program shortly on regular episodes of Extra Time with Trevor Warren on GreenBayPhoenix.com.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: Green Bay will return home for just a few days before leaving for the SIU Edwardsville Tournament in Edwardsville, Ill. The Phoenix will take on Northern Iowa Aug. 31 and UM-Kansas City Sept. 2. Green Bay will be back in action at Aldo Santaga Stadium Sept. 7 to take on Michigan Tech.
