CLEVELAND, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay swimming and diving teams wrapped up their three-day Ohio road trip on Saturday afternoon against Cleveland State at the Robert F. Busbey Natatorium. The women’s squad (3-0) picked up its third Horizon League dual victory in as many days with a 138-105 win, while the men’s squad (0-2) fell to the Vikings 149-92.

The Phoenix women earned first-place finishes in eight of the meet’s 13 events, while the men’s team registered four total victories on Saturday.

Freshman Natalie Neuwirth (Stevens Point, Wis.) continued her strong start to her college career against Cleveland State, recording a trio of wins to bring her season total to six. Neuwirth took both the 200-yard IM (2:10.65) and the 200 backstroke (2:07.23), and also joined Emily Gomez (Burlington, Wis.), Marlee Kiander (Tomahawk, Wis.) and Haley Lucas (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) on Green Bay’s victorious 400 medley relay squad (4:00.74).

Lucas also secured an individual win on Saturday, as the freshman claimed the 200 butterfly in 2:06.85. Classmate Autumn Roepsch (Dubuque, Iowa) won the 200 breaststroke shortly after, finishing in 2:27.17.

Parker Wolf (Kohler, Wis.) finished off the weekend with two more wins to her name, as the senior standout sprinted to victory in the 50 free (24.23) before anchoring the winning 400 free relay squad (3:31.68) to end the meet. Joining Wolf on the relay were Claire Walters (Northfield, Minn.), Racheal Weiland (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.) and Samantha Rottel (New Berlin, Wis.).

Senior diver Carrie Dinelli (Northbrook, Ill.) had a solid day on the boards for the Phoenix women, highlighted by a win in the 3-meter competition with a score of 264.74. Dinelli also earned a runner-up finish on the 1-meter board.

Senior Brian Heiser (McFarland, Wis.) paced the men’s team with a pair of individual wins against the Vikings, claiming the 200 freestyle (1:45.56) and the 200 backstroke (1:56.49). Sophomore Willem Poelmans (Hasselt, Belgium) was also an individual winner at CSU, taking the 200 IM in 1:53.72.

Green Bay’s fourth win on the men’s side came in the 400 free relay, as Casey Murphy (Sun Prairie, Wis.), Cole Hackney (Highlands Ranch, Colo.), Evan Hill (Jefferson, Wis.) and Matt Hollub (Appleton, Wis.) combined for a winning time of 3:09.56 in the meet’s final event.

After the long road trip, the Phoenix will have its first home meet of 2013-14 next weekend, welcoming South Dakota State on Saturday at 12 p.m.
