Women's Soccer Hits the Road with Matches at Indiana State and Drake

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay women’s soccer team heads back out on the road this weekend, taking on Indiana State on Friday at 6 p.m. and Drake at 1 p.m on Sunday. 

Green Bay is coming off an exciting weekend that saw it capture the Phoenix Soccer Tournament title and senior Hekla Palmadottir (Akranes, Iceland) take home Horizon League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week accolades. Defeating Western Illinois and Eastern Illinois last week at home helped the Phoenix claim the tournament title, while Hannah Kernen (Belleville, Wis.) was named the tournament MVP, offensive MVP honors went to Palmadottir and Katy Pilarzyk (Madison, Wis.), Jenna Harrington (Madison, Wis.), Heidi Hartmann (Plymouth, Minn.), Kernen and Palmadottir were all tabbed to the all-tournament team.

The Phoenix is 2-1-1 on the season and is led by Palmadottir with six points (2g, 2a), while Hartmann has a team-high 17 shots. In net, Pilarzyk is 1-0-0 with six saves while Nastacia Behle (St. Paul, Mo.) is 1-1-1 with 10 saves.

SCOUTING THE SYCAMORES:
 Roster Schedule Stats
Indiana State is 1-2-0 this season, winning its season opener before dropping its next two matches. Kate Johnson has scored two of the Sycamore’s three goals to pace the team with four points. Kayla Welch has the other goal for Indiana State. In net, Brittany San Roman has played the entirety of all three matches.

LOOKING AT THE BULLDOGS: Roster Schedule Stats
Drake is 0-3-1 this season. Paige Dusek has all four goals for the Bulldogs this season and also leads the team with 10 shots. Andrea Swanson has started all four matches and made 24 saves. In their four matches, the Bulldogs have been outshot by their opponents, 81-42, and also trail in corner kick opportunities, 27-10.
