GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay women's soccer team (4-10-1, 1-3-1 HL) will travel to Chicago to take on Loyola (7-7-3, 2-2-2 HL) in its final road matchup of the regular season on Wednesday. A win in the 5 p.m. contest will keep Green Bay's hopes of making the Horizon League Championship alive.

With four points in the Horizon League standings, Green Bay is currently two points behind both Youngstown State and Cleveland State, who hold the sixth and seventh places in the conference. The top six teams in the conference will make the tournament.

The Phoenix is coming off a close 2-1 home loss to first-place Milwaukee on Oct. 19. After Milwaukee knocked in an early goal, Green Bay responded immediately as Megan Braatz (Waukesha, Wis.) scored just 11 seconds later. Despite the Phoenix answering the early goal, Milwaukee ultimately pulled out the victory in what Green Bay head coach Trevor Warren called the game the best his team has played against the Panthers in recent memory.

Loyola is returning home for the first time since Oct. 6 following a three-game road trip. The Ramblers went 1-1-1 on the trip, first losing to Milwaukee in double overtime on Oct. 10 before rebounding to grab a 2-0 win at Youngstown State on Oct. 14. Loyola ended the road trip with a scoreless tie at Valparaiso on Oct. 22.

Green Bay and Loyola have met each year since 1992, with Loyola holding a slight 11-10-2 advantage all-time against the Phoenix. The two teams battled to a scoreless tie at Aldo Santaga Stadium last season, and the Phoenix picked up a 2-1 win on the road in 2010.

With her goal against Milwaukee, the fourth of her senior campaign, Braatz is now tied for sixth place in the Horizon League for goals scored. She also holds the number seven spot for most points in the league with 11.

Following the road contest at Loyola, Green Bay will return home for Senior Day on Oct. 27 against Valparaiso. The Phoenix will honor its two seniors, Braatz and Chanel Aries (Calgary, Alberta), as they play their final home game at Santaga Stadium. Kickoff against the Crusaders will be at 1 p.m.

MUST-WIN MATCHUP: Currently trailing Cleveland State and Youngstown State by two points in the Horizon League standings, Green Bay will need to win either of its final two matches to make the postseason. The Phoenix could potentially make the Horizon League tournament by winning one game if Cleveland State loses to Milwaukee and if Youngstown State drops its final two contests against Detroit and Wright State.

BRAATZ SCORES LOTS: Megan Braatz continues to be a key component in scoring plays for Green Bay during her senior season. With her goal last week against Milwaukee, she now has four goals and three assists on the season, totaling 11 points. Braatz is tied for sixth in the Horizon League for goals scored and holds the number seven spot for total points. She also leads Green Bay with 22 shots on the year.

EXTRA TIME WITH TREVOR WARREN: Warren will be sharing insights into the women's soccer program on regular episodes of Extra Time with Trevor Warren on GreenBayPhoenix.com.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE: Green Bay returns home for Senior Day and the final regular season home contest of the 2012 season on Oct. 27. The Phoenix will take on Valparaiso in a 1 p.m. matchup at Santaga Stadium.
