GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) -
With just three matches remaining on the regular season schedule, the Green Bay women's soccer team (3-9-3, 1-3-1) is looking for an important win Saturday afternoon at Youngstown State (3-8-2, 0-3-1) in order to keep pace in the Horizon League tournament race. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at Stambaugh Stadium.

The Phoenix is currently holding onto the sixth and final spot in the conference tournament, owning the head-to-head tiebreaker with Cleveland State (8-5-1, 1-3-1). The Penguins are still without a league victory in 2011, making Saturday's match a must-win in their hunt for the postseason.

LAST WEEK: Green Bay enters the contest against YSU coming off a 1-0 home loss to Wright State last Saturday. WSU scored the game's lone goal in the 19th minute when senior forward Brittany Persaud converted on a free kick. The Phoenix also battled Loyola to a scoreless tie earlier in the week on Wednesday (Oct. 5) at Santaga Stadium.

The Penguins, who are coming off a 3-0 loss at league-leading and nationally-ranked Milwaukee on Sunday, are looking for their first win since Sept. 2 (4-0 vs. Ursuline).

THE SERIES: Green Bay has controlled the all-time series with the Penguins, boasting a 9-2-1 record. However, YSU took the most recent meeting between the two schools, picking up a 1-0 victory last season in Youngstown, Ohio. Then-sophomore Katie Peterlin scored her first goal of the season in the win. It marked the Penguins' first victory over the Phoenix since 1998.

ON THE ROAD: While Green Bay has been solid on its home turf this season (3-3-2), the Phoenix is still looking for its first road win (0-6-1). Four of Green Bay's six road losses were 1-0 decisions, and seven of the team's nine total losses have been by a single goal.

RECORD BREAKER: Phoenix goalkeeper Maddie Drusch (Appleton, Wis.) became the school's all-time saves leader in a 2-1 win over Cleveland State on Sept. 25. The senior stopped five shots on goal to run her career saves total to 355, surpassing former Phoenix standout Laura Sandt (352, 1994-97) in the record books. For her efforts, Drusch was selected as the Horizon League's Co-Player of the Week, along with Milwaukee's Sarah Hagen. Her career total is currently at 365 and she leads the league with 81 saves this season.

EXTRA TIME WITH TREVOR WARREN: Phoenix head coach Trevor Warren joined host Jill Wunrow on Monday for this week's episode of Extra Time. The two recap last week's matches and talk about the important Horizon League contest at Youngstown State. To watch the show, click here.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE: Green Bay returns to Santaga Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 23 for its final regular season home match against Butler. It will be Senior Day for the Phoenix, as Drusch and Corey Arno (Winneconne, Wis.) will be honored prior to kickoff at 12 p.m.
