Megan Braatz and the Phoenix begin Horizon League play Friday at Valparaiso.

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay women's soccer team (2-6-2, 0-1-0) will play its non-conference finale on Sunday at 2 p.m. as it hosts Western Illinois (5-2-0) at Santaga Stadium. The Phoenix aims to snap a four-match losing streak after dropping a 1-0 result in its Horizon League opener on Friday at Valparaiso.

Sunday will mark the ninth meeting between the Leathernecks and the Phoenix, with the series knotted at 4-4-0. WIU won the most recent meeting a year ago, grabbing a 1-0 result in Macomb, Ill. The Leathernecks are coming off a 7-2 victory over Grand View last Sunday, with all seven goals marking the first of the season for its respective goal scorer.

POINT PERSON: Sophomore forward Hekla Palmadottir (Akranes, Iceland) leads the Phoenix with eight points (3 goals, 2 assists) in nine contests this season - a figure that ranks in the top 10 in the Horizon League. Palmadottir is also third in the conference in shots attempted with 30.

RECORD WATCH: Phoenix goalkeeper Maddie Drusch (Appleton, Wis.) is approaching a pair of school records. With five saves at Valpo on Friday, Drusch increased her career total to 344, which is just nine shy of breaking the school record held by Laura Sandt (1994-97). In addition, the senior has 14 career shutouts, a figure that ranks second on the school's all-time list behind Barb Singer (17.5 shutouts, 1990-93).

HOME SWEET HOME: Green Bay has found success at home in 2011, posting a 2-1-1 record in its four matches at Santaga Stadium. The Phoenix is 10-7-9 in games played in Green Bay, Wis., under head coach Trevor Warren, who is in his fourth season.
