Kraker and LeClaire Combine for 53 Points as Green Bay Routs Oakland
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Mehryn Kraker and Allie LeClaire scored a combined 53 points and shot 22-for-27 from the field as Green Bay (15-2, 6-0) downed Oakland (9-7, 3-2), 89-47, to stay perfect in league play.
The opening quarter of play was one of the best this season offensively for the Phoenix, with Green Bay pouring in 30 points to lead the Golden Grizzlies 30-20. The Phoenix outscored Oakland 18-10 in the last 6:04, with LeClaire scoring seven points and Kraker adding four.
Green Bay continued to roll on both ends of the floor in the second quarter, holding Oakland to only seven points and adding 24 to its own total to lead things 54-27 at the half.
More of the same came from the Phoenix in the final half of play as Green Bay went on to defeat Oakland, 89-47.
The Phoenix outscored the Golden Grizzlies 58-14 in the paint and held a 44-29 advantage in rebounds tonight. Green Bay also tallied 10 steals and shot 58.1% (36-62) while holding Oakland to 29% (18-62) from the field.
Kraker finished the game with a season-high 29 points on 12-of-15 shooting and added three rebounds, three assists and two steals to her stat line in 32 minutes. The redshirt senior also moved into eighth place on Green Bay all-time scoring list with 1,415 career points. LeClaire also had an extremely efficient and effective night, adding a season-high 24 points on a 10-of-12 effort in 29 minutes.
Jessica Lindstrom tallied her 11th double-double of the season and the 16th of her career tonight, scoring 10 points and grabbing 15 boards in 30 minutes. The junior forward also doled out three assists and collected three steals.
Green Bay will return to action Tuesday, Jan. 17 at the Kress Center against Valparaiso with tipoff slated for 7 p.m.
