Green Bay Gets Hot Late to Down Belmont, 62-53
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) --- Green Bay used an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter to pull away from Belmont and win its third game of the season, 62-53, at the Curb Event Center in Nashville, Tenn., on Tuesday night.
After struggling offensively early on and shooting just 8-of-31 in the first half, the Phoenix was able to return to form in the third quarter and begin to pull away from the Bruins. Green Bay scored 22 points in the third quarter, matching its total from the entire first half, and shot 10-of-16 from the floor to own a 44-40 edge heading into the fourth.
The Phoenix was clicking on both sides of the ball when it mattered most, as the defense held Belmont scoreless for 5:39 and went on an 11-0 run to claim a 62-53 road victory.
Mehryn Kraker scored a game-high 18 points on 6-of-14 shooting, collected six rebounds and doled out a career-high seven assists in 36 minutes. Jessica Lindstrom filled up her stat line and collected her third double-double of the season and the 11th of her career with 10 points and 12 rebounds in 38 minutes.
Allie LeClaire finished 5-for-10 on the night with two three pointers and scored a season-high 13 points in 33 minutes.
As a team, the Phoenix dominated the glass and owned a 48-30 advantage in rebounding.
