GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - After tomorrow's road contest at Loyola, the Green Bay women's basketball team will return home to kick off a four-game homestand against rival Milwaukee on Saturday. Tipoff against the Panthers will be at 7 p.m., not at 2 p.m. as originally listed.
The contest is part of Alumni Weekend, with numerous former Phoenix standouts expected to be on hand for the evening in celebration of 40 years of excellence for one of the most successful programs in the nation. Alumni in attendance will be recognized and banners recognizing the accomplishments of Phoenix teams prior to the Division I era will be unveiled at halftime. The Phoenix became a Division I program for the 1987-88 season.
The men's basketball team will also be at home on Saturday,
hosting Detroit at 1 p.m. as part of Alumni Weekend. Both teams will have
special alumni games open to the public, with the men playing at 10 a.m. at the
Resch Center and the women playing at 3:30 p.m. at the Kress Center.
