Green Bay has faced just one of the three teams competing in this weekend’s tournament (Vermont). Opening against Siena on Friday evening, the Phoenix takes on a new opponent from a conference (MAAC) that it is 4-1 all-time against current members. If the Phoenix end up facing North Florida on Saturday, it will face an opponent from the Atlantic Sun for just the second time in program history (1-0). Green Bay is 2-0 all-time against Vermont, last winning at home on Nov. 26, 2005 (62-52).

Scouting the Saints: Siena is 1-1 overall after losing its season opener to Albany (69-42) before rebounding with a win at Fairleigh Dickinson (82-58) last weekend. Clara Sole Anglada and Meghan Donohue lead the team with 10.5 PPG, while Tehresa Coles has a team-best 8.0 RPG. Sole Anglada also has a team-high 2.5 steals and 2.5 blocks per game.  The Saints were picked to finish seventh out of 11 teams in the MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll.

1. Road Warriors:
The Phoenix are in the midst of a six game road trip, traveling to Vermont this weekend. It is just the third time in the Division I era Green Bay has played that many consecutive games on the road, as it also happened to start both the 1997-98 and 1998-99 seasons. The 1998-99 season was head coach Kevin Borseth’s first season at the helm in Green Bay.

2. Closing in on 250: Head Coach Kevin Borseth is closing in on his 250th win at the helm of the Phoenix. In 313 career games over 10 seasons in Green Bay, Borseth is 247-66 (.789). Carol Hammerle (1973-98) is the all-time winningest coach at Green Bay with 456 career wins over 25 seasons. Borseth could be the quickest to 250, as it took Hammerle 376 games over 15 seasons to reach the plateau.

3. Conference Recognition: In back-to-back weeks, Green Bay collected Horizon League Freshman of the Week honors. This week Tesha Buck was recognized for her efforts after averaging 11.0 points, 5.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds against St. Bonaventure and Duquesne last weekend. Buck’s APG total is third in the conference, and she is second with a 3.8 assist/turnover ratio. Redshirt Freshman Mehryn Kraker earned the honor the previous week, becoming the first Phoenix player to earn the recognition since its introduction last season.

4. Return to Burlington: This will be the second time in program history Green Bay plays at the TD Bank Classic, hosted by the University of Vermont. The Phoenix played in the tournament on November 19-20, 2004, defeating Auburn (64-56) and host Vermont (67-52) to take home the tournament title.

5. Feed it in: Green Bay has been able to capitalize on offensive production in the paint this season, receiving 47.1 percent (98-208) of its total points from the lane while outscoring its opponents in the category by a +38 margin (98-60). Senior Breannah Ranger leads all Phoenix with 24 paint points.
