GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Competing in its final home contest of the 2011-12 campaign, the Green Bay men's tennis team dominated conference rival Valparaiso 7-0 on Sunday afternoon for Senior Day at Western Racquet and Fitness Club. The Phoenix improved to 13-5 overall and 2-0 in the Horizon League while finishing its home schedule with an unbeaten 7-0 record.

"I was very proud of the overall performance today." Green Bay head coach Mark Thomas said. "We competed well from top to bottom in both singles and doubles. We have played well at home all season and we are focused on carrying the positive momentum from this weekend into the pair of challenging road matches next weekend."

After picking up the doubles point in convincing fashion, the Phoenix rolled through singles play with straight-set victories in all six matches.

Paul Swanson (Coon Rapids, Minn.) performed well in the final home contest of his outstanding four-year career, as the senior powered his way to a 6-3, 6-2 win over Valpo's Chris Baum at the No. 1 singles spot.
