Junior Chad Ebert had a 54-hole total of 1-over par.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Junior Chad Ebert opened with a two-under par 68 Monday morning and finished the 54-hole Butler Invitational in a tie for third place with a two-day total of one-over par 211 (68-72-71). As a team, Green Bay finished in sixth place at Highland Golf and Country Club after consistent rounds of 293, 290 and 291. IUPUI won the team title with a 54-hole total of 849.

Ebert's strong play was aided by playing the par fives in four under par. The long-hitting junior finished three shots back of Butler's Andrew Wegeng, the medalist at two-under 208 (73-65-70).

Sophomore Dan Ozga (Edgerton, Wis.) overcame a first-round 76 to shoot 70 and 71 in rounds two and three and claim a tie for 13th place. Ozga tied Ebert with 10 birdies over the 54 holes, tied for the fifth most in the field.

The other three Phoenix golfers were all freshmen, and the trio finished within five shots of each other. Tom Boockmeier (Green Bay, Wis.) finished in 29th place with rounds of 75, 73 and 74. Nic Johnson (Wales, Wis.), playing on the A squad for the first time, was consistent and finished in 32nd place at 226 (76-75-75) while Tyler Schmidt (Jefferson, Wis.) was a stroke back after rounds of 74, 78 and 75.
