LEMONT, Ill. ( – Playing in windy conditions outside of Chicago, the Green Bay men’s golf team fought for 36 holes at Ruffled Feathers Golf Club and will enter Sunday’s final 18 holes in third place at the Dallio Memorial hosted by DePaul. The Phoenix is searching for its fourth victory in five events this season.

Ruffled Feathers Golf Club is a Pete Dye designed golf course 30 minutes outside of downtown Chicago. The 11-team field is playing the course as a 6,898-yard par-72.

It was a tale of two rounds for most of the Phoenix players, and it added up to a 36-hole score of 32-over par 608. Missouri State shot a 1-under par 287 in the opening round and leads at 21-over 597 despite struggling in round two. IUPUI (+24, 600) sits in second while Green Bay, DePaul (+33, 609) and Northern Iowa (+36, 612) round out the top-five.

Senior Dan Ozga (Edgerton, Wis.) played magnificently in the opening 18 holes to lead the tournament. The senior made two birdies and seven pars during a perfect opening nine hones, and made three birdies and a bogey coming in for a 4-under par 68. Unfortunately, Ozga struggled to an 80 in round two, but still sits just two strokes off the lead in a tie for seventh.

Redshirt freshman Joe Du Chateau (Fond du Lac, Wis.) posted an 8-over par 80 in the morning but responded well, carding three birdies in the afternoon during a 2-over par 74. Du Chateau is tied for 20th entering Sunday.

Junior Joseph Collard (Marinette, Wis.) was another Phoenix player whose rounds did not mirror each other. After an 83 in the opening round, Collard made five birdies in round two and carded the best Green Bay round in the afternoon with a 1-over par 73. With the field average at 80.0, Collard tied for the second best round of the second round and is tied for 26th.

Sophomore Gene Kiela (Plymouth, Wis.) is also tied for 26th but got their in a different way than Collard with back-to-back rounds of 78. Junior Tom Boockmeier (Green Bay, Wis.) is tied for 30th place after rounds of 77 and 80.
