Krenzien, Muhammad Named to College Sports Madness Preseason Squad

GREEN BAY, Wis. ( – With the 2013 season just days away, College Sports Madness ( released its Horizon League Preseason All-Conference teams and two Green Bay men’s soccer players were tabbed to the squad.

Senior midfielder Sam Krenzien (Wauwatosa, Wis.) was named to the first team, while Eddosa Muhammad (Fairbault, Minn.) was recognized as the freshman of the year.

Krenzien was a First Team All-Horizon League selection a season ago, collecting all-conference honors for the first time in his career.  One of just six players to appear in all 16 games last season, Krenzien finished his junior campaign with two goals and an assist.

A native of Fairbault, Minnesota and a graduate of Shattuck-St. Mary’s, Muhammed was ranked as one of the nation’s Top 150 players in the class of 2013 by  He helped the Shattuck-St. Mary’s U17/18 squad to a Development Academy Playoff berth and a Frontier Division Championship in 2012, the school’s first since joining the league in 2010, with an overall record of 15-5-4.

The Phoenix kick off the 2013 season on Friday with a match at DePaul. Gametime is slated for 4:00 p.m.
