CHANGSHU, China (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The NetScouts USA All-Star team, which included former Green Bay women’s basketball star Sarah Eichler (Grafton, Wis.), posted a perfect 9-0 record in China over the last two weeks en route to the Four Nations Tournament championship. The team capped off the unblemished title run on Thursday with an exciting 68-64 overtime victory over China.

Final Four Nations Tournament Standings
1 – United States 9-0
2 – China 6-3
3 – Australia 2-7
4 – Hungary 1-8

Eichler averaged 2.5 points and 2.4 rebounds per game in the tournament, which was highlighted by a five-point, five-rebound, two-assist effort in the USA’s 83-56 rout of Australia on Wednesday in Changshu. Eichler also scored five points and grabbed four boards in the team’s victory over Hungary in Chengdu on June 22.

China proved to be the United States’ toughest competition in the round-robin event, as all three victories over the Chinese were by a combined eight points.

Fresh off the Four Nations Tournament victory, Eichler and her teammates next head to Qinhuangduo near Beijing for a pair of scrimmages against China’s U19 national team (June 29-30) before heading back to the United States.

Eichler was a four-year starter at Green Bay from 2009-12 where she aided the Phoenix to four straight NCAA Tournament appearances, four Horizon League regular season titles and three conference tournament titles. Eichler’s teams posted an astonishing 122-12 overall record and advanced past the NCAA Tournament First Round on three occasions. She finished her career as the school’s all-time leader in games played with 133.

A member of Green Bay’s 1,000-point club, Eichler earned second-team all-league and all-defensive team honors as a senior in 2012-13 after finishing second on the Phoenix in scoring (11.8 ppg) and steals (45). She was also an all-newcomer team pick as a freshman in 2009-10, and played a key role in Green Bay’s run to the Sweet 16 in 2010-11.

Two of Eichler’s former Phoenix teammates – Adrian Ritchie (De Pere, Wis.) and Stephanie Sension (Hopkins, Minn.) – recently played in a similar tournament in China with the NetScouts All-Star team. Ritchie and Sension also helped the USA to a championship in the tourney with a 7-2 record.
