MILWAUKEE (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay women's tennis team (0-3) dropped a pair of matches over the weekend, falling 5-2 to IUPUI in Chicago on Saturday before suffering a 7-0 loss to Marquette on Sunday at the Helfaer Tennis Stadium in Milwaukee.

Senior Rebecca Nelson (Brookfield, Wis.) and freshman Eleanor O'Brien (Northfield, Minn.) both picked up singles wins for the Phoenix against IUPUI on Saturday, as Nelson defeated Rachael Bridegroom 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 and O'Brien downed Jaclyn Hyman 7-5, 6-1 at No. 6.

"Nelson has added more topspin to her baseline game," Green Bay head coach Sara Schubring said. "Her ground stroke consistency has picked up and her transition game was flawless in singles."

In doubles action, the freshman duo of Stephanie Londre (Burlington, Wis.) and Rachael Menos (Appleton, Wis.) secured a win at No. 3 against the Jaguars' pair of Hyman and Jesika Bays 8-2.

On Sunday at Marquette, the Golden Eagles won all three doubles contests to secure the doubles point before sweeping the six singles matches in straight sets. Senior Maria Anderson (Marshfield, Wis.) put up a strong fight for the Phoenix at No. 3 singles, but ultimately fell 7-6 (5), 6-3 to Aleeza Kanner.

Green Bay returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 16 when it hosts the University of Chicago for its first home meet of 2013 at Western Racquet and Fitness Center.
