Phoenix Looks to Go 2-0 on Opening Road Trip

GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The Green Bay men's soccer team will play its second game in three days when it faces Bradley (3-0) Saturday at 7 p.m. at Shea Stadium in Peoria, Ill. The Braves received votes in the NSCAA national poll are ranked No. 6 in the Midwest Region.

The Phoenix is off to a 1-0 start after a 1-0 win over SIUE Thursday in the Cougars' home opener. SIUE entered the contest receiving votes in the national poll and ranked No. 3 in the Midwest Region. Tony Walls (Wauwatosa, Wis.) scored the lone goal of the contest off a corner kick from Stuart Grable (Neenah, Wis.) in the 73rd minute. The win for Green Bay was also Kris Kelderman's debut as the Green Bay head coach.

OPPONENT: The Braves are off to a 3-0 start for the first time since 2000 after opening its season on the road at No. 21 Butler (0-3) with a 4-1 upset victory. Bradley also tallied wins against IPFW (1-2) and most recently against Eastern Illinois (1-1) in its home opener on Thursday.

THE SERIES: Saturday's contest will be the second meeting between the two teams. Last season, the Phoenix hosted Bradley, shutting out the Braves 2-0 at Aldo Santaga Stadium.
