Men's Soccer Wraps up Regular Season Saturday

Green Bay's seven seniors will be honored before Saturday's game

GREEN BAY, Wis. ( - On a seven-game winning streak heading into its final regular season game, the Green Bay (11-4-0, 5-2-0 HL) men's soccer team will host Wright State (4-11-1, 0-6-1 HL) at Aldo Santaga Stadium on Saturday at 2 p.m. Prior to Saturday's game, Green Bay will honor its senior class which includes, Josh Bautch (Wausau, Wis.), JC Banks (Milwaukee, Wis.), Casey Berg (Janesville, Wis.), Dan Krueger (Fridley, Minn.), Rene Mendez (West Dundee, Ill), David Prochazka (Gothenburg, Sweden) and Scott Raymonds (Brookfield, Wis.).

The Phoenix enter Saturday's contest with its longest winning streak since 2006 and the longest under head coach Tom Poitras. Green Bay is 14-8-1 all-time against Wright State and 6-2-1 at home. Last season, Green Bay tied the Raiders, 1-1 at home.

Green Bay has clinched the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the Horizon League Championships which kick off Tuesday, Nov. 9. Green Bay will play the highest remaining seed from Tuesday's first round on Friday, Nov. 12. at No. 1 seed Butler.

Offensive Power: Throughout its seven-game winning streak Green Bay has scored 17 goals compared to 15 throughout its first nine games. The Phoenix ranks 17th in the country in total goals (32), 18th in won-lost-tied percentage (0.719) and 22nd in scoring offense (2.0).

Banks in the Ranks: Leading Green Bay and the Horizon League with 12 goals, Banks ranks in the nation's top 15 in four of six offensive statistical categories, as of Oct. 31. Banks is 6th in both total points (29) and total goals (12.0), ninth in points per game (1.81) and 11th in goals per game (0.75).

Next on the schedule: The Phoenix will hit the road and head to Indianapolis for the Horizon League Championships hosted by No. 1 seed Butler. Green Bay will play Friday, Nov. 12 against the highest remaining seed from Tuesday's first round.
