INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Redshirt senior Sabastian Xiong (Cottage Grove, Wis.) was named the Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week after netting two goals and helping the Green Bay men’s soccer team to a 3-3 draw at No. 12 Marquette on Sunday.

Joining Xiong was Milwaukee freshman keeper Liam Anderson, who earned conference defensive player of the week accolades.

Xiong gave Green Bay the lead in the 24th minute, gathering a pass from Lawrence Talery (Coon Rapids, Minn.) and sending a shot that ricocheted off the left post and into the net for a 1-0 advantage. His second marker came with just six minutes remaining in the match to force overtime as he picked up a cross from Sam Krenzien (Wauwatosa, Wis.) and beat a defender to tie the score at 3-3.

Xiong started both games for Green Bay this weekend, including the draw at MU and a 3-2 win at DePaul on Friday afternoon.

The Phoenix opens their home slate on Saturday, taking on Western Illinois at 4 p.m.
