MACOMB, Ill. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Led by a 12th place finish from freshman Renee Christensen (Greenleaf, Wis.) and a final round 78 from junior Christina De Boer (Onalaska, Wis.), the Green Bay women's golf team finished fifth at the Western Illinois Invitational Monday afternoon in Macomb, Ill.

As a team, Green Bay finished the 36-hole event at 677 (341-336). Loyola won the event with SIU Edwardsville, Western Illinois and Chicago State joining Green bay in the top five of the eight-team field. Loyola's Ann Vrdolyak took individual medalist honors.

Christensen had rounds of 80 and 84 on the 6,082-yard, par-72 course to pace the Phoenix. De Boer opened with a 91 before rallying on Tuesday with a 78 that tied for the third-lowest score in the field. De Boer tied for fifth in the field with three birdies in the event. She finished in a tie for 19th.

Senior Eleanor Yorobe (Bloomington, Minn.) tied for 17th with two consistent rounds of 84. Molly Fassbinder (Hudson, Wis.) had the field's only eagle and tied for 33rd while sophomore Grace Abitz (Appleton, Wis.) finished in a tie for 44th.
