GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay had 56 student-athletes named to the 2011 Horizon League Spring Academic Honor Roll, the league office announced on Friday.

The men's swimming and diving squad had the most honor roll members, totaling eight. That team was followed by the women's swimming and diving team, which placed seven. Women's basketball (6), volleyball (5), softball (5), men's soccer (5), women's soccer (5), men's tennis (4), women's tennis (4) and women's golf (4) each had at least four honor roll members.

Candidates for the Honor Roll must meet three criteria in order to qualify: 1) participation in at least one of the League's 19 sports during the most recent season; 2) completion of three semesters as a full-time student at the same member institution; and 3) a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.20 (on a 4.0 scale) as of Dec. 31, 2010.

The 2011 spring semester marked the 23rd consecutive semester that Phoenix student-athletes posted a combined grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
