GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - The late Everett "Butch" Reimer was posthumously inducted into the Phoenix Hall of Fame on Friday night in a ceremony held at The Marq. Reimer was inducted as the lone member of the Class of 2011 and the 71st Hall of Famer in the 18th annual Phoenix Hall of Fame banquet.

A longtime coach and supporter of Green Bay Athletics, Reimer passed away on Oct. 19, 2010 after a battle with acute myogenic leukemia. Reimer's wife, Jill, spoke and accepted the honor on his behalf from Butch's brother-in-law, presenter Jed DeYoung.

Reimer most recently worked as the head Nordic ski coach from 2006 until the time of his passing. He also coached the Nordic ski program from 1988-98 and served as the head softball coach from 1996-2002. During his time at Green Bay, Reimer led the ski program to great heights. In his years leading the program, 33 men and women qualified for the NCAA Championships and his teams won two regional championships and two conference titles.

While at the helm of the softball program, Reimer led the Phoenix to three-straight conference title games and a then-program best 27-15 record in 2000.

Three of Reimer's former student-athletes - Phoenix Hall of Famer and former Nordic skier Dr. Philip Gallagher, Phoenix Hall of Famer and former softball player Debbie Kind Urben and current Nordic skier Carolyn Freeman shared their thoughts and stories on how Reimer impacted their lives and Green Bay Athletics. UW-Green Bay Chancellor Tom Harden and Director of Athletics Ken Bothof also spoke at the ceremony.
