Molly Vandervest to Join Staff as Assistant Director of Development
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Molly Vandervest has been named the Assistant Director of Development at Green Bay, Director of Athletics Mary Ellen Gillespie announced on Monday. Vandervest, who is currently the Marketing and Events Manager with Downtown Green Bay, Inc., will begin her duties with the Phoenix on July 7.
“We are very excited to welcome Molly to the staff,” said Assistant Athletics Director for Development Adam Miller. “With her deep ties to the Green Bay community and strong fundraising background, she will hit the ground running as we begin a new fiscal year in July. She will be an asset to our team and help take Phoenix Athletics to the next level.”
Vandervest has worked in some capacity for Downtown Green Bay, Inc. and Olde Main Street, Inc. since 2001, and has been a major part of the organization’s impressive revenue and event growth. She managed 71 event days in 2013, including the oversight of Nicolet Bank’s Dine on the Deck, Associated Bank’s Fridays on the Fox, Summer in the Park, Live on Main, the AT&T Green Bay Holiday Parade, the New Leaf Winter Farmers Market and Saturday Farmers Market.
In her new role at Green Bay, Vandervest will serve as a member of the development staff and assist in the annual giving and stewardship plan for the Phoenix Fund as well as organize and execute fundraising events. She will also be a member of the department’s external relations team, serve as the liaison to the Phoenix Fund Board, and assist with annual season and group ticket sales.
"As a lifelong Phoenix fan and community supporter, I am thrilled to be joining the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in this capacity,” Vandervest said. “The athletics department in particular is in an exciting chapter in its history, and I am ready to get started to be a part of the growth."
A native of De Pere, Vandervest graduated in 2004 from Wisconsin with a bachelor’s degree in journalism-strategic communications. She was named the 2009 “Young Professional of the Year” and received the 2010 “Spirit of Current Award” from the Current Young Professional Network and was named the 2013 UW-Madison Brown County Alumni “Badger of the Year.”
