TOLEDO, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men’s tennis team wrapped up its busy weekend away from home on Sunday with a 6-1 road win against Toledo at Shadow Valley Tennis Club. It marked the second-straight victory for the Phoenix, which improved to 8-4 overall on the year.

Green Bay started the day with wins in the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches to earn the doubles point, and then went on to claim five of the six singles contests in the rout.

The nationally-ranked (No. 40) Phoenix tandem of Michael Tenzer (Neuried, Germany) and Howard Scott (Exeter, England) got things started with a dominant 6-1 victory over Garrett Cona and Stjepan Sisko at No. 1, and Joey Leto (Downers Grove, Ill.) and Michael Tebon (Excelsior, Minn.) wrapped up the first point of the match with a 6-2 win against Mark Singnil and Nicky Wong at No. 2.

In singles action, Green Bay won the Nos. 2 through 6 matches to run away with its eighth win of the year.

Sophomore Leopold Gomez Islinger (Weiden, Germany) earned a hard-fought victory at the No. 2 spot, defeating Sisko 6-4, 6-4, while Tenzer rolled to a convincing 6-1, 6-0 win against Wong at No. 3.
