Evans Selected to Participate in Dunk Contest at NCAA Final Four

GREEN BAY, Wis. - Green Bay senior forward Terry Evans (St. Louis, Mo.) has been selected to participate in the Vegas.com Slam Dunk Championship as part of Final Four weekend in Detroit.
The 21st Annual State Farm College Slam Dunk and Three Point Championships will be held at the Palace of Auburn Hills on Thursday, April 2 beginning at 6:30 p.m. (CT). It will air on ESPN from 8-10 p.m. (CT), following the National Invitation Tournament's championship game.
A total of eight participants will compete in the dunk contest. Other confirmed entrants include Central Florida's Jermaine Taylor, New Mexico's Tony Danridge, Charlotte's Charlie Coley and Toledo's Tyrone Kent.
This past season, Evans became the Horizon League's first four-time All-Defensive Team honoree and helped lead the Phoenix to a 22-11 record, which included a second-place finish in the Horizon League. Evans leaves Green Bay as the school record holder in games played (131), steals (237) and blocked shots (132). In addition, he finished his career with 1,099 points, which ranks 19th on the school's all-time list, and is third in career rebounds (766).
Last year, Sonny Weems of Arkansas claimed the event's title. Other past participants include Tony Allen (Oklahoma State, 2004), J.R. Giddens (New Mexico, 2008), Darvin Ham (Texas Tech, 1996), Dahntay Jones (Duke, 2003), Felipe Lopez (St. John's, 1998) and Ruben Patterson (Cincinnati, 1998).
