GREEN BAY, Wis. ( – On Saturday afternoon, the Green Bay men’s basketball team held its final practice before heading on a foreign trip to the Bahamas. The Phoenix will arrive in Nassau on Sunday night and will be playing three games during the trip. Per NCAA rules, a program can participate in a foreign tour during the summer once every four seasons and is allowed 10 days of practice prior to departure.

On Friday, head coach Brian Wardle sat down with Andrew Gavin to discuss the team’s trip and what the team is hoping to experience on and off the court. To hear from Wardle, click here.

The Phoenix will have five newcomers participating in games for Green Bay for the first time, including senior transfer Vince Garrett, junior Alfonzo McKinnie and freshmen Turner Botz, Tevin Findlay and Kenneth Lowe.

On Monday night, Green Bay will play its opening game of the trip at 6 p.m. against the Bahamas All-Stars. The Phoenix will also play Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. against the Cybots and on Thursday at 6 p.m. against the Real Deal Shockers. Green Bay last participated in a foreign trip prior to the 2006-07 season under former head coach Tod Kowalczyk, playing four games in Spain. Wardle was an assistant coach during that season but missed the trip to Spain due to the birth of his first child, Mya.
