Flying with the Phoenix: Brown Adding to His Game
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Alec Brown (Winona, Minn.) had one of the best freshman seasons in Green Bay history in 2010-11, but the 7-foot-1 center also came out of the season knowing he had key areas to build upon on for the future. In the most recent installment of Flying with the Phoenix presented by Frontier Airlines, Phoenix Flix looks at some of the things Brown has been keying on this spring.
Brown averaged 10.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per contest while being the only Phoenix player to start each game of the 2010-11 campaign. In the process, the Horizon League All-Newcomer Team selection broke the program's single-season blocks record with 65.
The freshman's 325 points on the season were also the most scored by a Green Bay freshman since Chris Sager totaled 331 points 11 seasons ago in 2000-01.
Brown and the Phoenix completed their spring individual workouts last week and are focusing this week on studying for and taking final examinations.
