Alec Brown scored a team-high 15 points Tuesday night at Wright State.

DAYTON, Ohio (GreenBayPhoenix.com) - Freshman Alec Brown (Winona, Minn.) scored a team-high 15 points and helped seventh-seeded Green Bay (14-18) recover from an early deficit Tuesday night, but a late 10-0 run by sixth-seeded Wright State (19-13) helped the host Raiders post a 60-50 victory in the first round of the Horizon League Championship.

Brown led his team in scoring by hitting 6-of-10 shots from the field, and his jumper with 3:04 to play cut the deficit to 50-48, but the Raiders pulled ahead with eight free throws and a Vaughn Duggins jumper. Duggins scored 22 points to lead all scorers.

"It was our third battle this year where it was quite a basketball game," said head coach Brian Wardle. "In the first half it was one of the best halves I have seen all year defensively when it comes to two teams slugging it out and leaving everything on the floor."

Junior Jarvis Williams (Milwaukee, Wis.) gave the Phoenix a pair in double figures with 10 points, and freshman Daniel Turner (McCordsville, Ind.) pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds to help Green Bay to a 37-30 edge on the glass.

Senior Rahmon Fletcher (Green Bay, Wis.) ended an illustrious career with the Phoenix. The program's all-time leader in career starts (123) finished his time in a Green Bay jersey with 1,678 points, good for fifth all-time. Fellow seniors Bryquis Perine (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Greg LeSage (Radcliff, Ky.) also played their final games for Green Bay. Perine finished his career with 978 points.

"It was an emotional locker room for us," said Wardle. "We have a very close knit group of seniors and staff, and the seniors obviously gave me everything they had and I could not thank them enough for the years they had. I am grateful for the people they are and the leadership they showed."
