GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com)Keifer Sykes (Chicago, Ill.) garnered numerous awards during and following his junior campaign on the Green Bay men’s basketball team, and the point guard will likely attract a lot of attention heading into 2014-15, his senior season with the Phoenix.

Last week, BleacherReport.com ranked its top-20 seniors in college basketball for the 2014-15 season, and Sykes found his way on the star-studded list ranked No. 9. Saying “Keifer Sykes is a name that more people should know,” Bleacher Report pointed out Sykes’ play in a stretch of non-conference games against NCAA Tournament foes Virginia, Wisconsin, Harvard and Tulsa. In those four games, Sykes averaged 26 points and 6.3 assists per game.

As a junior in 2013-14, Sykes averaged 20.3 points, 4.9 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game. He was named the Horizon League Player of the Year, an Associated Press Honorable Mention All-American and to the USBWA and NABC All-District squads.

Other notables on the list of top seniors include: Stanford’s Chasson Randle (No. 20), Gonzaga’s Kevin Pangos (No. 16), Harvard’s Wesley Saunders (No. 14), Wichita State’s Tekele Cotton (No. 11), Connecticut’s Ryan Boatright (No. 10), Michigan State’s Branden Dawson (No. 6) and Wisconsin’s Frank Kaminsky (No. 3).

Below is a “By the Numbers” look at Sykes entering his senior season:
3
– Sykes is looking to become the sixth player in Green Bay’s Division I history to earn all-league accolades three times
9 – On pace to be in the top-10 in program history in nine major statistical categories
10 – Has won 10 Horizon League Player of the Week honors, tied with Detroit’s Rashad Philips for most all-time
15.8 – Career scoring average, the third-highest in Green Bay’s DI history
37 – Times that Sykes has shown off his 44.5-inch vertical by dunking in his career
70 – Consecutive games that Sykes had started prior to missing the NIT game against Belmont
77 – Times in his career that Sykes has scored in double figures, including 60 of 64 games the past two seasons
415 – Free throws Sykes has made in his Phoenix career, already the most in the Division I era. With 48 more free throws, Sykes will set the all-time program record
518 – Points shy of becoming just the second Green Bay player to reach 2,000 career points (Tony Bennett – 2285)
1482 – Career points, ranking 10th all-time on the program’s all-time scoring ledger
