Green Bay's Contest Against Wisconsin Officially Sold Out
GREEN BAY, Wis. (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – The Green Bay men’s basketball team’s home contest against No. 20/21 Wisconsin on Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Resch Center is officially sold out, Interim Director of Athletics Dan McIver announced on Wednesday afternoon.
“We are extremely excited to announce this sellout and thankful to the Phoenix fans and all basketball fans in the area,” McIver said.
The game will mark the fourth time in 20 all-time meetings that the two programs meet in Green Bay and the third contest at the Resch Center. In the last visit, the Phoenix posted an 88-84 overtime victory on Dec. 9, 2009.
“When I took over the program, one of my goals was to schedule games that allowed our players to compete in big games with great atmospheres,” head coach Brian Wardle said. “Part of that goal included bringing programs like Wisconsin and Virginia to the Resch Center so we could play these games in front of our home crowd.”
Wisconsin represents one of two home opponents that are ranked in the preseason top-25 polls. Green Bay will host No. 24/25 Virginia on Saturday, Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. Tickets for the Virginia game are still available at all TicketStar locations and by calling 800.895.0071.
