NASSAU, Bahamas (GreenBayPhoenix.com) – Junior Keifer Sykes (Chicago, Ill.) scored 19 of his team-high 26 points in the second half and added nine assists, seven rebounds and six steals, sparking the Green Bay men’s basketball team to a 92-75 victory over the Cybots on Tuesday night. The Phoenix improved to 2-0 on its foreign tour with the finale set for Thursday night at 6 p.m. CT.

With five dunks in the opening quarter, Green Bay jumped ahead 20-3 early on Tuesday. Junior Greg Mays (Chicago, Ill.) had two of the dunks and senior Vincent Garrett (Chicago, Ill.) threw down a reverse slam on a lob from Sykes.

The Cybots, who finished 14-2 to win their division in 2012-13, rallied to cut the Phoenix lead to 29-21 at the end of the first quarter and 44-41 at halftime.

Green Bay jumped out quickly again in the third quarter, getting a dunk from Mays on the first possession to start an 11-2 run for a 55-43 lead. Junior Alfonzo McKinnie (Chicago, Ill.) scored the final five points of the run on a three-pointer and a putback dunk and Green Bay pushed its lead to 69-53 at the end of three quarters.

McKinnie posted his second double-double in as many nights with 15 points and 14 rebounds in 18 minutes. In 31 combined minutes, McKinnie has 25 points and 24 rebounds.

In the fourth quarter, the Cybots cut a 20-point deficit to 81-71 with just over three minutes to play, but Sykes scored Green Bay’s final nine points to end his impressive night in style.

Mays finished with 12 points and nine rebounds as Green Bay held a 62-41 edge on the boards. Sophomore Carrington Love (Milwaukee, Wis.) scored 11 points and Garrett added 10 to give the Phoenix five players in double figures.

With 10 dunks on the night, the Phoenix shot 36-of-77 from the field and 6-of-14 from long range. The Cybots made 33-of-49 free throws while Green Bay was held to 14-of-22.

Green Bay will play its final game of the tour on Thursday night at 6 p.m. against the Real Deal Shockers.
