GREEN BAY, Wis. Along with hearing from Wardle, coaches in attendance will hear from former Green Bay head coach and Phoenix Hall of Famer Dick Bennett, Southwest Minnesota State head coach Brad Bigler and Lewis head coach Scott Trost.

The coaches clinic is open to anyone who wants to attend and costs $10 per person. The attendees will see presentations from all three head coaches from 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., be treated to lunch at 12:30 and then be invited to watch the 2013-14 Green Bay men’s basketball team practice at 1 p.m. The Phoenix officially begins practice for the 2013-14 season on Friday, Sept. 27.

Wardle is entering his fourth season at the helm of the Phoenix men’s basketball program after spending six years as an assistant coach with the program. Green Bay has improved its win total and Horizon League finish in each season under Wardle, and in 2012-13, the program led the Horizon League in rebounding margin, field goal percentage defense and blocked shots.

Bennett was the head coach at Green Bay from 1985-95 and posted a record of 187-109. Under Bennett, the Phoenix won two conference championships and made three trips to the NCAA Tournament. He was inducted into the Phoenix Hall of Fame in 2002. Following his time at Green Bay, he also served as the head coach at Wisconsin and Washington State, and he led Wisconsin to the 2000 Final Four.

Bigler is entering his fifth season as the head coach of Southwest Minnesota State. In 2012-13, Bigler was named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Coach of the Year and led the Mustangs to the NSIC Tournament Championship in 2011-12.

A native of Appleton, Wis., Trost is a 14-year head coaching veteran and is in his eighth season as the head coach at Lewis, a Division II school in the challenging Great Lakes Valley Conference. In 2012-13, Trost led the Flyers to a 19-9 record.
